When you are trying your first, or hundredth build...whether it's on a rifle or a pistol...
MAKE SURE YOU POLISH. Spend time here. Any monkey can grind metal, and "sorta" fit a beavertail on a 1911, but the difference comes in when you POLISH the frame and the beavertail. If you leave it full of tool marks and chingers, it makes an otherwise nice job look like a monkey with a bastard file went after your gun.
